In May 2008 I crewed on
the Cornish Maritime's Trust's 1880 St Ives Mackeral Driver Barnabas to Scilly.
The boat is a 40 ft dipping Lugger one of the last remaining boats of the
once thousand strong fleet that fished the waters around Cornwall and beyond.
She is very much still laid out as a working boat and these sketches are snatches of time taken from the deck whilst sailing her west.
This was a trip I had wanted to do for years and can think of no better way of arriving to these island.
